Five Days in the Northland!

Last week I got to spend five days in the Northern part of England and it was amazing! Rolling, green hills, lakes, lush countryside, and a slightly gray, overcast sky. I truly enjoyed my time there.

Monday: I went to the Tate, the modern art museum, here in London. I ate some delicious sausage and cheese/olive bread sticks at a market.

Tuesday: We left early in the morning and spend the day in Cambridge. I went punting! Punting is like a gondola mixed with a row boat, it was a blast :) Then we went to a few museums, including the Fitzwilliam Museum where I found the Impressionist Room. I found Monet, Dega, and Cezanne originals which was amazing. I toured a few colleges, played with some cows, and then I went to a boy's choir concert at King's College Cathedral.

Claire didn't want to share her bagel :)

An original Monet!

His nose was broken, it looked cool.

Wednesday: We went to the Ely Cathedral and saw the Stained Glass Museum which was amazing. There was stained glass from every century for the last 1,000 years in England. We then spent the afternoon at Fountain's Abbey. This was my most favorite place that we went the whole trip. It is an abbey completely in ruins, so nature has taken it over. There is moss, grass, and crumbling stones everywhere, but it is completely open to the skies! It was a chilly day with gray skies and it was very enjoyable to explore and climb around on all the ruins.

I'll continue the rest of my adventures last week in another blog post!
